Car Seats

Warning- This is probably really boring to most people...

One of the joys of a first baby is getting to research and purchase all of the items that you need. I have been doing alot of research on car seats lately. I have found that there is a huge difference in what is the minimum requirement and what is actually suggested to be the safest. This is one of the things that I won't be just buying what's cheapest and prettiest.

I was completely suprised to find out how much I didn't know about them. For example: I did know that carseats expire but I didn't know that you should never ever buy a used carseat. I've seen them often times in the second hand store and never really thought twice about it. But you should never buy a second hand car seat because you don't know it's history. It is also suggested that you replace a carseat if it is ANY kind of vehicle accident where it is just a fender bender or huge crash. There is so much information out there that is so helpful when trying to learn and make the best possible decision about something so important.

After all of the research, I decided on the Safety 1st onBoard™35 Air Infant Car Seat. This car seat has the newest technology for side impact crashes to help protect their head from slamming into the side of the carseat as well as protecting the child from anything that may hit the side of the seat itself. I also like that the base has an adjuster so that if you have the deep seats in your vehicle the base can be installed properly and securely. One of the other great things is I like the cute pattern that it comes in too :) I like the colors are brown and green so if baby #2 is a girl we will still be able to use this travel system.

I can't believe that time is flying and in about 13 1/2 short weeks we will be meeting our little Brison.

What a cute Travel system.. I really like it .. I have never heard of them before but I think when we have our next little one I might check them out .. Addison's car seat will be expired at the end of this year so I will have to purchase a new one. I love you and I can't wait for those 13 1/2 weeks to fly by so I can meet sweet baby Brison .. Love you Kika ..

Most insurances cover the cost of getting a new carseat if you're in an accident, up to a certain amount. Let me rephrase that..Most GOOD insurances. Some of these fly by ones don't cover anything.
